Reliance restarts fluidized catalytic cracker unit at SEZ refinery in Jamnagar

Reliance Industries Limited said that the fluidized catalytic cracker unit (FCCU) at its SEZ refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat has been restarted.

The company undertook an emergency shutdown of the fluidized catalytic cracker unit on 6 June 2021. It has now been restarted after performing the required repairs, said Reliance Industries.

According to the company, the refinery unit has since been stabilized and normal throughput has been reached.

On 9 June 2021, Reliance Industries had informed about the emergency shutdown of the unit. At that time, the company said that all other units at the SEZ refinery in Jamnagar were operating normally.

Owing to the shutdown of the unit, the company said that some product shipments could be delayed and that it is being repaired on top priority.

The SEZ refinery in Jamnagar has a crude processing capacity of 580,000 barrels per day.
