Reliance Jio Infocomm rolls out True 5G services in 27 more Indian towns

Reliance Industries said that Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Jio Platforms, has launched its True 5G services in 27 towns and cities across 13 states/union territories in India.

With the announcement, Jio becomes the first telecom provider to bring new-generation True 5G technology to most of these cities, laying the foundation for a brand new era of digital transformation, said Reliance Industries.

Starting from 8 March, the technological advantages of high-speed internet and low-latency separate True 5G services shall be offered to the residents and companies of these cities.

Jio True 5G provides fast speeds of as high as 1 Gbps that allow uninterrupted streaming of ultra-high definition video with immersive and interactive video and cloud gaming. The technology is also expected to boost the capabilities of new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality (AR) as well as Virtual Reality (VR), making way for new applications in areas of nation-building such as education, healthcare, and agriculture.

As per the announcement, Jio True 5G has been newly launched in Tadipatri (Andhra Pradesh), Anantnag (Jammu & Kashmir), Bhatapara (Chhattisgarh), Bhadravathi, Doddaballapura, Chintamani, and Ramanagara (Karnataka), Changanassery, Kodungallur, and Muvattupuzha (Kerala), Katni Murwara (Madhya Pradesh), Pathankot (Punjab), Satara (Maharashtra), Pollachi and Kovilpatti (Tamil Nadu), Siddipet, Jagtial, Sangareddy, Kodad, Kothagudem, Zahirabad, Tandur, and Nirmal (Telangana), Kashipur and Ramnagar (Uttarakhand), Rampur (Uttar Pradesh), and Bankura (West Bengal).
