Reliance Industries announces launch of JioMart on WhatsApp
Reliance Industries said that Jio Platforms is partnering with social technology company Meta to launch ‘JioMart on WhatsApp’ — an end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp to enable consumers to shop from JioMart from their WhatsApp chat itself.
JioMart on WhatsApp will let users in India, including those who are yet to shop online browse through JioMart’s entire grocery catalog seamlessly, add items to cart, as well as make the payment to complete the purchase from the comfort of WhatsApp chat.
Mark Zuckerberg — Founder and CEO of Meta, in a Facebook post, said: “Excited to launch our partnership with JioMart in India. This is our first-ever end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp — people can now buy groceries from JioMart right in a chat.
“Business messaging is an area with real momentum and chat-based experiences like this will be the go-to way people and businesses communicate in the years to come.”
According to Reliance Industries, the launch of JioMart on WhatsApp is part of a strategic collaboration between Jio Platforms and Meta to expedite the digital transformation of India and give businesses of all sizes and people scope to connect in new ways and drive economic growth in the country.
