PM Modi inaugurates EIL and partners’ Ramagundam Fertilizer Plant

Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has officially inaugurated the INR 6,300 crores Ramagundam Fertilizer Plant in Telangana owned by Engineers India Limited (EIL) and its partners through the Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) joint venture.

The Ramagundam Fertilizer Plant is a gas-based urea manufacturing fertilizer plant located in Ramagundam, Peddapalli district. It has a capacity of 2,200MTPD ammonia unit and a 3,850MTPD urea unit.

According to Engineers India Limited, the new fertilizer factory in Ramagundam will lower India’s dependence on the import of fertilizer and achieve self-sufficiency in the urea sector. The company said that it is among the largest fertilizer manufacturing factories in South India and will enhance the availability of fertilizer to farmers as well as boost the economy in the region.

Engineers India Limited has a 26% stake in Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited and had provided EPCM services to the Ramagundam Fertilizer Plant. Other stakeholders in the joint venture are National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCIL), Telangana government, GAIL (India), and HTAS.
