Petronet LNG to move ahead with floating LNG terminal in Odisha

Petronet LNG has taken a final investment decision (FID) on the phase 1 of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) based LNG terminal to be installed at the Gopalpur Port in Odisha.

The investment required for floating LNG terminal in Ganjam is INR 2,306 crores.

According to Petronet LNG, the FSRU will have the provision to be converted into a land-based terminal. The floating LNG terminal will have a capacity of four million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA).

The greenfield LNG terminal is expected to be fully ready in nearly three years.
