Pacifico Energy begins construction of Minami Mega solar project in Japan
Solar industry news : Japanese solar power developer Pacifico Energy has started construction of the 55MW Minami Mega solar project in Japan’s Gifu prefecture in Gujo City.
The new Japanese solar power plant will be built on the site of a golf course with operations expected to begin in July 2019, after 17 months of construction work.
Toyo Engineering Corporation has bagged the EPC contract for the Minami Mega Solar Power Plant and will be responsible for engineering, procurement of equipment and materials, construction and commissioning.
Upon being commissioned, the Minami Mega solar project will produce 55 million kilowatt hours of solar energy annually. The new Japanese solar plant from Pacifico Energy will help in reducing about 30,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

The Minami Mega Solar Power Plant will be supported by a power purchase agreement with Chubu Electric Power, a Japanese electric utility which serves the middle Chūbu region of the Honshu Island. Chubu Electric Power had agreed to buy all the power generated by the new Japanese solar power plant.
Recently, Pacifico Energy had wrapped up construction of a couple of solar power projects in Okayama, at Kumenan and Mimasaka along with a solar power plant in Osaki City, Miyagi. All the three Japanese solar power plants have been in commercial operations.
The Japanese solar power developer says that it has been building various solar power plants. Included in the list are a 96MW solar power plant in Miyazaki, a 257MW solar plant in Okayama, a 42MW solar power plant in Fukushima and a 62MW solar power plant in Aichi.
