OPPO expands into Levant market with new office in Amman, Jordan

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO is expanding its footprint in the Middle East by entering the Levant market with a new office in Amman, Jordan.

The new OPPO market development office in Amman will manage the consumer electronics manufacturer’s Levant operations. It will also serve as a sales and marketing center as well as offering maintenance and after-sales service for OPPO devices.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer said that it had a favorable growth in the Middle East and Africa, which led to its decision to foray into the Levant market.

Having achieved social media presence across various platforms and possible retail point of sales locations, OPPO secured a favorable place to enter the Levant region.

Currently, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has 200 employees in its Levant team, of which 71% are Jordan citizens.

Ethan Xue – President of OPPO Middle East and Africa (MEA) said: “The Levant is of strategic importance to OPPO, and so we are glad to announce achieving this expansion milestone development with our entry into this exciting new market. Going forward, the Levant market will serve alongside the UAE and Saudi Arabia markets as the three main pillars supporting OPPO’s sustainable growth in the Middle East.”

Since its entry in the Middle East, OPPO introduced its flagship Find X model in the region in 2018, and in April 2019, the company selected Dubai as the first international launch location for its new OPPO Reno smartphone series.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer plans to further boost its position by launching more flagship and 5G products in the Middle East.

So far, OPPO has presence in various markets across MEA, including Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Kenya, Nigeria, Kuwait, Bahrain, and now the Levant.
