OMRON Healthcare to launch manufacturing operations in Origins by Mahindra, Chennai

OMRON Healthcare, a Japanese manufacturer and distributor of blood pressure monitors and cardiovascular disease prevention services, has announced its plans to launch operations in Chennai, India.

The company will set up a blood pressure monitor manufacturing facility at Origins by Mahindra, located in the Mahindra Industrial Park Chennai Limited (MIPCL). MIPCL is a joint venture between Mahindra World City Developers Limited and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan.

In the presence of MK Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, OMRON Healthcare signed a memorandum for setting up the blood pressure monitor factory in Chennai.

The OMRON Healthcare factory will cover an area of 6.02 acres and will primarily focus on manufacturing blood pressure monitors for the domestic market. The launch of this facility is scheduled for March 2025, reflecting the company’s commitment to expanding its presence and meeting the rising demand for healthcare products in India.

Ayumu Okada — OMRON Healthcare President and CEO said: “Due to the rapid economic and population growth in India, the number of patients suffering from lifestyle diseases such as hypertension is expected to increase.

Origins by Mahindra, situated near Ponneri in North Chennai along the NH16 Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor, serves as an industrial cluster and is home to a prestigious lineup of global companies.
