Investment firms Gencom and Mohari Hospitality have raised $130 million in financing for the ongoing construction of Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residence, a new ultra-luxury boutique resort and branded residences in Costa Rica.

Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residence, is located on Peninsula Papagayo, a 1,400-acre private club and resort community situated on the north Pacific coast of the Central American country.

Claimed to be Costa Rica’s first Ritz-Carlton Reserve, the boutique resort will consist of 107 guest rooms and suites, and 36 ultra-luxury branded residences.

Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residence, which is designed by SB Architects and Gensler, will feature a private beach club and on-site spa, a suspension bridge, three Ritz-Carlton Reserve dining concepts, and Ambassadors Of The Environment — a partnership with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society.

The floorplans of the boutique resort in Costa Rica range from two to five bedrooms, and from 2,200-6,300sft.

This November, Peninsula Papagayo will launch a new wilderness outpost within the 250-acre Palmares Preserve, offering aerial adventure to offroading, wilderness hikes, birdwatching, mountain biking, and multi-adventure tours.

Banco BCT and Monroe Capital led the financing for the construction of Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residence, which broke ground in May 2022 and is expected to complete and open in late 2024.
