Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park : DEWA invites bid for sixth phase
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is requesting bids from international solar power plant developers for the execution of the sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
Under the sixth phase, the world’s largest single-site solar park will add a capacity of 900MW, which will be commissioned in stages starting from Q3 of 2025.
DEWA is implementing the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Saih Al-Dahal on the independent power producer (IPP) model.
Upon completion of the sixth phase, the capacity of the solar park will increase to 3.76GW. Overall, the solar power facility’s production capacity will increase to 5GW by 2030.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer — DEWA MD and CEO, commenting on Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park sixth phase, said: “We work in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100% of the total power production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.”
Currently, the solar park in Saih Al-Dahal has a power generation capacity of 1.73GW using photovoltaic solar panels.
Clean energy production currently accounts for about 12.1% of Dubai’s total energy mix and is anticipated to increase to 14% by the end of this year.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is expected to reduce more than 6.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, once fully completed.
