Antacids are generally taken to get relief from burning sensation in the stomach. However, if these antacids are taken frequently, they may lead to food poisoning. The harmful bacteria gets killed by digestive juices which are released during the process of digestion. It is one of the natural defense in the body.

In people who take antacids frequently, the effects of these acids are reduced and harmful bacteria are not killed and their number is increased greatly. So they will be susceptible to food poisoning easily.
