Maruti Suzuki India recalls 181,754 vehicles over potential defects
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has issued a recall of 181,754 units of certain petrol variants of Ciaz, Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, and XL6 for inspecting possible defects.
The recall given by the Indian car manufacturer is for the vehicles manufactured between 4 May 2018 and 27 October 2020.
Maruti Suzuki India said that recall campaigns are taken up globally to rectify faults that may be potential safety defects.
The automobile manufacturer said that it has decided to recall the impacted vehicles for inspection/replacement of motor generator unit, free of cost.

The company said that owners of the affected vehicles will get a communication from its authorized workshops.
The replacement of the impacted part will begin from the first week of November 2021, said Maruti Suzuki India. Until then, the company has requested customers to avoid driving the vehicles in water logged areas as well as direct water spray on electrical/electronic parts in them.
