Larsen & Toubro wins contract for 112MW solar power plant in West Bengal
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that the renewables arm of its power transmission and distribution (PT&D) business has bagged a turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for setting up a 112.5MW solar power plant in West Bengal.
The solar power plant will be built in the south-western part of the state.
According to Larsen & Toubro, the state undertaking, which is executing the solar power project with a foreign development bank’s financing, has awarded the EPC package on an international competitive bidding basis.
Larsen & Toubro’s PT&D business bagged a contract in central-western Uttar Pradesh for carrying out works for developing power distribution infrastructure under the Revamped Reforms-linked Distribution Scheme. The scope covers loss reduction works such as GIS asset mapping, stated the Indian engineering group.
In the overseas market, the group secured an order from an energy company in the Middle East for implementing the electrical system and the related civil and instrumentation works.
Separately, Larsen & Toubro’s buildings and factories arm has won an order from Nanavati Max Super Specialty Hospital to build a 600-bed super specialty hospital at Vile Parle in Mumbai.
Larsen & Toubro did not reveal the values of the contracts but indicated that they are in the range of INR 1,000 to 2,500 crores.
