Kaskasi offshore wind farm set to go onstream with all turbines in place
RWE Renewables’ 342MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm has installed the last turbine 35km north of Heligoland island, Germany.
Of the 38 turbines installed at the Kaskasi wind farm, over two-thirds are already sending green electricity into the power grid, said RWE, the parent company of RWE Renewables.
The Kaskasi offshore wind farm features recyclable rotor blades produced by Siemens Gamesa.
The Kaskasi wind project, which is the sixth wind farm of RWE Renewables in German waters can power up more than 400,000 households annually.

Sven Utermöhlen — RWE Renewables Wind Offshore CEO said: “Together with our partner companies, our team has persistently pushed ahead with the installation of turbines at our sixth wind farm off the German coast.
“Since July, a total of 38 wind turbines have been successfully installed off the island of Heligoland. This is exactly the kind of determination we need, because faster offshore expansion allows us to achieve our climate targets as well as greater energy sovereignty.”
The Kaskasi offshore wind farm is expected to go onstream by the end of this year.
Under its green investment and growth strategy, RWE Renewables Wind plans to increase its total offshore wind capacity from existing 3GW to 8GW by 2030.
