Japan’s Marubeni to sell skin care products for children under IFME brand

Japanese conglomerate Marubeni Corporation said that it will begin selling skin care products for children under the IFME skincare brand.

IFME is a shoe brand for kids manufactured by Marubeni’s fully-owned subsidiary — Marubeni Footwear.

Since its launch in 2000, IFME is said to have researched and developed jointly with industry and academia the concept of supporting the healthy growth of children’s feet.

IFME is said to have sold 28 million pairs since its launch.

According to Marubeni, the concept of IFME skincare is to support the healthy growth of children’s bare skin. For this, the Japanese group is said to have created body wash and body milk products for protecting the skin of children with moisture.

The sales of the skincare products for children will commence on 1 April 2022 on the IFME website.

Marubeni said that it intends to grow sales channels to domestic retail stores from the fall of this year, and then to global markets, primarily to Asia.

The Japanese conglomerate stated: “The baby and kids market continues to grow and expand in various fields both in Japan and overseas. Even in Japan, where the birthrate continues to decline every year, the amount of spending per child is increasing.

“Marubeni will utilize their knowledge in the baby and kids market cultivated through IFME’s shoe sales to expand the IFME brand to the skin care field.”
