Inspire Brands to acquire Dunkin’ Brands Group for $11.3bn

Inspire Brands acquisition of Dunkin’ Brands : Inspire Brands (formerly Arby’s Restaurant Group), a US-based multi-brand restaurant company, has agreed to acquire Dunkin’ Brands Group, the owner of quick-service restaurants Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, for nearly $11.3 billion including the assumption of debt.

As per the terms of the deal, Inspire Brands will acquire Dunkin’ Brands for $106.50 per share in cash.

Dunkin’ serves coffees, espresso beverages, baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches across more than 12,500 locations in various parts of the world.

On the other hand, Baskin-Robbins, is a chain of ice cream specialty shops that serves 31 flavors of ice cream besides ice cream cakes, ice cream sundaes, and milkshakes, across nearly 8,000 locations around the world.

The current portfolio of Inspire Brands includes over 11,000 Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John’s, and SONIC Drive-In restaurants across the world.

What Inspire Brands acquisition of Dunkin’ Brands means to the former

Following the addition of Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, the portfolio of Inspire Brands will have $26 billion in systemwide sales, more than 31,600 restaurants across 60 plus countries.

Besides, the multi-brand restaurant firm will have nearly 600,000 company and franchise team members, over 3,200 franchisees, along with 25 million loyalty members.

Commenting on Inspire Brands acquisition of Dunkin’ Brands, Paul Brown – Co-founder and CEO of Inspire Brands, said: “Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins are category leaders with more than 70 years of rich heritage, and together they are two of the most iconic restaurant brands in the world.

The closing of Inspire Brands acquisition of Dunkin’ Brands, which is subject to certain conditions, is anticipated to occur by the end of the year.
