Infosys opens Rs 25.5cr OPD block at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology
Infosys said that its philanthropic and CSR arm — Infosys Foundation has wrapped up construction of a multi-disciplinary outpatient department (OPD) block at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Bengaluru.
The Indian IT company spent INR 25.5 crores on the new 75,000sft OPD block.
The building will have more than a dozen departments with an aim to accommodate close to 1,800 patients every day.
Sudha Murty — Chairperson of Infosys Foundation said: “Lack of proper treatment and medical infrastructure often manifests in unfortunate circumstances for patients and their family.
“This is a small effort by the Foundation to ensure that people have access to clean, hygienic, and timely medical intervention, especially at a time when we are engulfed by a pandemic. We are thankful to the State Government, our Honorable Chief Minister, Health Minister, and Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, for their collaboration and support in this initiative.”

Infosys Foundation is said to have been closely working closely with the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology since 2001 on various projects.
The new OPD is a dharamshala renovation, which has five fully equipped operation theatres and an ICU.
In the last 18 months, Infosys claims to have pledged INR 200 crores in total for Covid relief efforts in India through the Infosys Foundation. The company also played a role in establishing a 150-bed Covid care hospital in Bengaluru in partnership with the Karnataka government.
