Infosys launches Private 5G-as-a-Service for customizable private 5G services

Indian IT giant Infosys has launched the Private 5G-as-a-Service to expedite business value for its enterprise clients around the world

Infosys claimed that the Private 5G-as a-Service provides an easy and flexible pay-as-you-go solution for customers.

According to the company, its wireless 5G expertise along with its private network management solution ensures low latency, high bandwidth, and dependable wireless connectivity for businesses.

The new 5G service is adapted to the particular requirements of clients and is implemented in a time-bound and agile manner. To simplify implementation, Infosys said that it has pre-integrated the 5G stack from several suppliers and tested it against requirements for various use cases.

The Private 5G-as-a-Service is managed with a single management tool which provides real-time data on the operations and performance of the private 5G network.

It integrates multi-access edge computing (MEC), which decreases the lag of networks further by reducing the amount of time needed to process data. This allows for a more stable network operation for high-bandwidth business applications with many uses.

The use cases include drone-based real-time analytics, remote-guided vehicles, high-definition video and media analytics, and metaverse solutions, and other industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Infosys said that its collaboration with its ecosystem of partners offers quicker time-to-market as well as a lower cost of ownership for private 5G rollout for its customers.
