IPL to acquire 195MW solar power project in Indianapolis
AES’ subsidiary Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL) has agreed to acquire a 195MW solar power project to be built in Clinton County, Indianapolis.
The acquisition will be completed once it receives approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
Invenergy has been given the tasks of developing and managing the construction of the solar power plant, which is expected to begin commercial operation in 2023. Construction on the IPL solar power project is expected to kick off in the fall of this year involving nearly 200 temporary construction jobs.
Once operational, the solar power plant will be able to power 30,000 plus homes.
