HPCL brings in Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi as new chairman and MD

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) said that Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi has taken over as the company’s new chairman and managing director (MD).

Previously, Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi was the HR director of the Indian state-owned petroleum company since August 2012. He also has the additional charge of the director of marketing of HPCL.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi had served in key portfolios in human resources functions viz. executive director – HRD and head – HR of marketing division. He holds a doctorate in Human Resource Management and is a Post Graduate in Human Resource Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur. The new HPCL chairman and MD had done his Bachelor of Law from Andhra University.

Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi had also been part of the HPCL Board of Directors since 2012.

HPCL stated: “During his tenure in the Board, HPCL became a Maharatna Company and achieved the landmark Profit After Tax of 10,000 crore in FY 2020-21. In addition Mumbai Refinery Expansion Project, Joint Venture Bathinda Refinery Project numerous infrastructure projects in Marketing which exponentially increased the Refining and Marketing capacities of HPCL have been executed over the years.”
