Hero MotoCorp March 2023 sales of two wheelers up by 15%

Hero MotoCorp said that it sold 519,342 two wheelers in March 2023, which marks a growth of 15% compared to March 2022 during which the Indian motorcycles and scooters manufacturer sold 450,154 units.

In the wake of the increased demand for its two-wheelers throughout March 2023, Hero MotoCorp consolidated its position further by crossing 5.3 million units sold in the financial year (FY) 2023 (April through March 2023).

The automobile manufacturer sold 53,285,546 two wheelers in FY’23. This is a growth of 8.8% over the comparable timeframe of the prior fiscal year (FY’22) during which it sold 49,441,150 units.

Recently, Hero MotoCorp announced the appointment of Niranjan Gupta as its new CEO beginning on 1 May 2023. This elevates Niranjan Gupta from his current post as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Strategies and M&A.

In addition, Dr. Pawan Munjal will remain as the Executive Chairman and a full-time Director on the Board.

Hero MotoCorp said that it created several benchmarks and achieved milestones for FY 2023 that will benefit the Indian market, and the worldwide automotive industry.

In the period of sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation, VIDA V1 – Powered by Hero – the company’s next technology fully-integrated electric car (EV) first appeared in the fiscal year of FY’23. The deliveries of Vida V1 have already begun and the firm has installed over 300 charge points across 50 sites within Delhi, Bengaluru, and Jaipur for use by the public.

Giving a new definition of the scooter category as well as charting the future step of its technologically-enabled progress within the scooter market, Hero MotoCorp, launched the brand new 110cc scooter called Xoom.

Strengthening its commitment to bring stylish, modern, and cutting-edge products for the customers, Hero MotoCorp launched technologically-advanced XTEC variants of Splendor, and Passion followed by Super Splendor in FY’23.

Hero MotoCorp also unveiled the 4-Valve edition of XPulse 200T, as well as the Rally Edition of XPulse 200 4V. It also introduced Canvas Black Edition for Super Splendor as well as the Stealth 2.0 Edition for Xtreme 160R.

In the fiscal year, Hero MotoCorp partnered with California-based Zero Motorcycles, which manufactures electric motorbikes as well as powertrains, with an intent to work together on premium electric motorcycles. The partnership will blend the knowledge and experience of Zero Motorcycles in the field of developing power trains and electric motorbikes with Hero MotoCorp’s global reach and capabilities in sourcing, manufacturing, and marketing, to help usher into the new era of green and sustainable technologies in the field of mobility.

Hero MotoCorp also announced its first venture in the South East Asian Market by entering into a partnership with Terrafirma Motors Corporation (TMC) to introduce its vehicles in the Philippines.
