GrubMarket acquires Los Angeles-based produce provider Best Fresh Produce

US food technology startup GrubMarket has acquired Best Fresh Produce, a provider of fresh fruits and vegetables, for an undisclosed price.

Established in 2007 by Zakaria Trad and Abdul Basset Trad, Best Fresh Produce is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The company directly partners with growers in the region to deliver wholesome produce from seeds to table.

Best Fresh Produce is said to have an established customer base across California, Midwest, East Coast, and other important metropolitan areas around the US.

Best Fresh Produce is also said to be a major supplier of dates across the world.

Best Fresh Produce marks the fifth acquisition for GrubMarket in the Los Angeles area.

The food technology startup said that it intends to continue to strengthen its strategic footprint in the region.

Best Fresh Produce will continue to be based in Los Angeles, and will be managed by its present leadership team.

The produce provider will now be able to leverage GrubMarket’s WholesaleWare software suite, its Software-as-a-Service platform that offers food industry suppliers and vendors with financial management, easy-to-use online ordering and sales, precise inventory management, and CRM tools.
