Gener8 acquires life sciences software developer RND Group

Gener8, a portfolio company of Sverica Capital Management, has acquired the RND Group, an Indianapolis-based provider of software development focused on medical devices and life science products.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by Gener8, which offers turnkey design and manufacturing services. Gener8 is said to specialize in high complexity products, mainly for diagnostics and medical device applications.

Through the acquisition of the RND Group, the company will gain the full lifecycle capabilities of software development that include cloud-based solutions, LIS/EHR integration, verification and validation, compliance of quality system, and others.

RND Group is said to have created an array of protocols that help speed up the development process by using built-in core functionality.

Although Gener8 already offers turnkey instruments and consumable solutions and an accompanying firmware, the acquisition of RND Group allows it to expand its services off-instrument to the related software.
