Global chicken restaurant chain Kenny Rogers Roasters is all set to enter India by opening its first flagship restaurant in Noida.

The first ever Kenny Rogers Roasters India restaurant will be located in the Gardens Galleria Mall and will open its doors to the public on October 21.

Troika Hospitality India is the master franchise of Kenny Rogers Roasters in India.

Troika Hospitality India partner Rajeev Chawla said: “Consumer is more health conscious now and caught up in the fast paced life so our restaurant response to consumer needs by offering the deliciously healthy food to help them maintain their health conscious need”.

Popularly called as KRR, the chicken based restaurant chain comprises over 400 restaurants globally. Its menu is uniquely centered on wood-fired rotisserie chicken.

At KRR, you can expect to be served roasted healthy chicken, free from oil and made through a flameless method.

KRR was founded in 1991 by musician Kenny Rogers and former Kentucky Governor John Y Brown Jr who was also a former CEO of KFC. The first KRR restaurant came up in Coral Spring in Florida.

KRR however suffered losses in its home country where it had to shut shop. Outside the US, the chain thrived, especially in Asia after being acquired by Malaysian based conglomerate Berjaya Group.

Even though Kenny Rogers Roasters is just about to begin its operations in India, it already has a restaurant in neighbouring country Bangladesh which opened in 2012 and is running at Gulshan in Dhaka.

In Malaysia, KRR has a significant presence with more than 100 restaurants. KRR restaurants are also in Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore and in China.

It also has restaurants across the Middle East and is looking to open a restaurant in Qatar.

In India, plans are on to set up six to seven restaurants in Delhi NCR and Punjab by next year.

Meanwhile, Kenny Rogers Roasters is also seeking out for franchises in India. It has kept its franchise fees at INR 13.5 lakhs with a capital set up cost of INR 1 crore to INR 2 crore.
