Image-enabled health information exchange (HIE) solutions provider eHealth Technologies has released a new technology to make prior medical images available to clinicians, radiologists, and specialists when a patient is scheduled or presents for treatment.

eHealth Connect Image Exchange Automated Imaging Workflow will make all external, relevant images available immediately in a local picture archiving and communication system or imaging system from connected facilities.

Automated Imaging Workflow will eliminate manual steps and reduce the burden on clinicians and staff by locating, gathering and importing medical images.

The solution is expected to remove delays and gaps in care from missing images and repeated tests.

Automated Imaging Workflow will improve patient and staff satisfaction as clinicians and providers will have more time for patient care.

Gary Larson – executive vice president and general manager of HIE solutions, eHealth Technologies said: “Automated Imaging Workflow is a technological development like no other that offers an unprecedented benefit to its users.

“This new service creates a truly automated environment where locating and delivering prior medical images can be accomplished without any manual steps.

“The impact of this service will be an incredible asset to its users.”

Launched at the 2019 Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative conference, the Automated Imaging Workflow is an extension of its existing services, eHealth Connect Image Exchange.

According to the company, eHealth Connect Image Exchange enables health information exchange subscribers access to full diagnostic quality medical records in the context of the patient record.
