Dastur Energy, GTI partner on low-carbon gasification solutions in India
Dastur Energy Pvt. Ltd. India, a subsidiary of US-based clean energy company Dastur Energy, has joined forces with Gas Technology Institute (GTI) to jointly build solutions to advance the shift to low-carbon, low-cost energy systems across India.
The parties will work together to reduce costs and minimize environmental impacts by developing scalable gasification-based solutions for a variety of Indian coals.
Dastur Energy said that it will complement Gas Technology Institute’s experience with gasification of high ash coals and U-GAS fluidized bed technology.
According to the clean energy company, coal gasification in combination with carbon capture, use, and storage, is likely to be the basis for affordably priced clean fuels and feedstock substitution for producing clean steel, ammonia, hydrogen, methanol, and other lower-carbon chemicals.

Dastur Energy and Gas Technology Institute plan to offer integrated solutions for the broadest variety of Indian coals with comprehensive gasifier process design packages, technology licensing, and gas conditioning expertise, complete engineering for the gasifier and other components of the plant, support for implementation, management of the project, operations training, and start-up and commissioning of the plant.
