What is Cystitis? How is Cystitis caused?

Cystitis is the general term for the inflammation of the bladder. Cystitis is a urinary tract infection which is caused by various types of infections.

Cystitis is more common in the females than in males. The microbes come from outside the body through the urethra or by kidney infection. When the bladder gets inflamed, frequent and painful urination occurs. This disease may also be due to the enlargement of the prostate gland or when there is a defect in the male urethra and when there are stones or tumour in the bladder.

Treatment of Cystitis :

Cystitis may not be prevented completely but some types of infection can be controlled by cleansing the genital region regularly such that the entrance of the urethra is protected against bacterial invasion. It is cured by the medicines which are prescribed by the physician after identifying the pathogen.
