American clothing retailer Gap Inc. revealed plans to open a $140 million Customer Experience Center in Longview, Texas.

The new Gap Inc. Customer Experience Center is expected to cope up with the increasing customer demand for online shopping, apart from helping the clothing retailer reach its future plans for digital growth.

Gap Inc. expects the new campus to open up over 500 full-time jobs in Longview by the end of 2023. The number is expected to cross 1,000 full-time jobs in the city during the next five years.

Dr. Andy Mack – Longview Mayor said: “This significant investment by Gap Inc. will provide a large number of jobs for East Texans and is a continued diversification of our economy.

The new Gap Inc. Customer Experience Center in Longview will feature the latest technology that has been tested and streamlining in other campuses across the retailer’s network. After its completion, the new campus would be able to process up to a million units per day.

The Gap Inc. Customer Experience Center in Longview will have a space of nearly 850,000 square feet. Its construction is slated to start in April and is targeted to be fully operational by August 2022.
