City of Superior engages Magellan for developing fiber broadband project

The City of Superior in Wisconsin has engaged Magellan for developing its fiber to the home network that can serve the community of more than 26,000 residents and businesses.

Magellan will provide its turnkey broadband solutions to build the City of Superior’s network, which will support minimum synchronous speeds of 1Gbps.

Superior City Council President Tylor Elm said: “Some of the reasons we ended up choosing Magellan included that they are a very stable organization with a proven track record.

“They have a large, professional team to work with all aspects of the project, working with more than 400 municipalities and connecting over one million homes.”

In the future, the network will have the ability to ramp up to 10 Gbps or more. Initially, Magellan will deliver engineering, funding design, and business strategy for deploying the network.
