CIMIC’s UGL selected to build 35mw battery for Alinta Energy
UGL, a leading engineering and construction company under CIMIC Group, has been chosen by Alinta Energy to install a cutting-edge 35-megawatt one-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) facility in Port Hedland, Western Australia. The project aims to enhance power infrastructure and reliability in the region.
Under the agreement, UGL will undertake the crucial tasks of designing, testing, and commissioning the BESS, which encompasses a battery storage and power conditioning system at the Port Hedland Power Station.

Additionally, UGL will extend the existing high voltage infrastructure to facilitate seamless connection of the BESS.
The project is already underway, with UGL diligently working towards its completion targeted for late 2024. This significant initiative holds the promise of bolstering energy storage capabilities and fostering sustainable power solutions for the region.
