BHEL inaugurates data centre at Bengaluru electronics division

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited sad that Indian Heavy Industries Minister Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey inaugurated its data centre at the company’s electronics division in Bengaluru.

According to the Indian government-owned engineering and manufacturing enterprise, the new centre will steer its digital transformation journey. It brings together the data centres of all the three Bengaluru-based units of BHEL — solar business division (SBD), industrial systems group (ISG), and electronics division (EDN) under a single roof.

BHEL said that the co-location of the data centres in one place will help the company optimize its IT infrastructure, drive better data security, and cut down operating costs.

Furthermore, the company said that the connectivity to solar business division and industrial systems group, located nearly 12kms from the electronics division is provided via high-speed multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) for boosting the speed and also to control the flow of network traffic.
