Bharat Electronics Limited wins Rs 250cr IAC MOD ‘C’ contract
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has bagged a contract worth around INR 250 crores from the Indian Ministry of Defence for the supply of integrated anti-submarine warfare systems (IAC MOD ‘C’) for the Indian Navy.
Under the contract, the Indian government-owned aerospace and defence electronics company will deliver nine integrated anti-submarine warfare systems for all surface ships of the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces.
According to Bharat Electronics Limited, the IAC MOD ‘C’ computes fire control solutions and enables the firing of anti-submarine warfare systems weapons like rockets and torpedoes.
Customization of the fire control system can be done to adhere to the needs of any platform of interest, ranging from small ships to large ships configuration, said Bharat Electronics Limited.
Additionally, the system facilitates the capabilities of counter measure for incoming torpedoes with the decoy launching system.
Bharat Electronics Limited stated: “IAC MOD C has been indigenously developed by BEL in association with DRDO, in accordance with the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, a self-reliant nation.”
