Barry Callebaut opens expanded chocolate factory in Campbellfield, Australia

Barry Callebaut Group, a Swiss chocolate and cocoa products company, has inaugurated its expanded chocolate factory in Campbellfield, on the outskirts of Melbourne in Australia.

The Campbellfield chocolate factory was acquired by Barry Callebaut in 2020. It has been expanded with the addition of new factory lines that are said to considerably ramp up its total production capacity as well as its range of offerings.

The facility further strengthens our regional footprint in Asia Pacific, producing safe and high-quality products. The move is in line with our ambition to locate production close to our customers.”

Following the expansion, the Campbellfield factory, which is equipped with chocolate refining and conching lines, will manufacture liquid chocolate, compound, chips, buttons along with specialties like fillings and coatings.

Through the Campbellfield chocolate facility, Barry Callebaut can cater to the entire Australian food industry, from global and domestic food manufacturers to artisanal and professional chocolate users.
