American Beverage acquires kids’ lemonade brand Poppilu

American Beverage Corporation, a fully-owned subsidiary of Harvest Hill Beverage Company, has acquired Chicago-based Poppilu, a kids’ lemonade brand in the US.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Poppilu is an organic beverage and is available in Original Lemon, Peach lemonade, and Blueberry flavors.

Sold in pouches, Poppilu is said to contain no added refined sugar and has 7gms of sugar per serving.

“We are especially excited that the product was crafted by a mom with kids in mind, which comes through in the bold taste and better-for-you benefits that will resonate with consumers.”

Poppilu was founded by momtrepreneur Melanie Kahn in 2017 with the launch of better-for-you bottled lemonades for adults, however, the company started manufacturing pouches for kids in 2020.

Bold & Tangy Lemonade pouches are available at nationwide retailers such as Target, Walmart, and Thrive Market and regional chains such as Stop & Shop, Giant Eagle, and H.E.B.

Based in Connecticut, Harvest Hill Beverage Company is majority owned by Brynwood Partners. It produces beverage brands such as Juicy Juice, SunnyD, and Little Hug, Nutrament and an alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink mixer business under the Daily’s brand.
