Amazon to open fulfillment center in Alcoa, Tennessee


E-commerce giant Amazon has revealed plans to establish a fulfillment center in Alcoa, Tennessee in 2022.

The new Amazon fulfillment center, which is being developed by Hillwood Development Company, will generate 800 new full-time roles.

Currently, Amazon has fulfillment and sortation centers in Charleston, Chattanooga, Memphis, Lebanon, Murfreesboro, and Nashville.

The facility in will be the third fulfillment center for Amazon in Tennessee to use robotics technology. It will be the eighth fulfillment center for the e-commerce giant in Texas.

The fulfillment center, which will span more than 634,812sft will see Amazon’s employees pick, pack, and ship smaller customer items that include books, electronics, and consumer goods.

We are grateful that Amazon continues to provide jobs to thousands of Tennesseans, and we congratulate the company on its newest fulfillment center in Alcoa.”
