Amazon officially opens new tech office in Boston, Massachusetts

Amazon has officially opened its new tech office in Boston, Massachusetts where over 2,000 employees will work on inventing and innovating on behalf of the company’s customers.

The Boston Tech Hub of Amazon features new office space, innovation labs, as well as mixed-use common areas.

Rohit Prasad — Amazon Alexa senior vice president and head scientist said: “We’ve created more than 4,500 corporate and tech jobs at our Boston Tech Hub, and we’re excited to welcome 2,000 of these employees to their new office.

“Our teams in the Boston area are working on exciting innovations for our global customers—from artificial intelligence and machine learning to cloud computing and robotics engineering.”

The new tech office of Amazon in Boston was developed by WS Development and designed by architecture company Gensler.

Amazon’s new 430,000sft office is located in the Seaport’s new Harbor Way park. It is said to accommodate employees working across Amazon Alexa, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Pharmacy, and Amazon Devices.

The teams working at the new Amazon office in Boston work on driving innovation in areas such as cloud migration, machine learning, and robotics intelligence.

Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito said: “Amazon’s continued investment and growth in Massachusetts is a testament to the Commonwealth’s diverse talent pool and the many amenities that we have to offer.
