Adani Agri Logistics to build four food grain silo complexes in India
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited said that Adani Agri Logistics Ltd (AALL) is set to build and operate food grain silo complexes at Kanpur, Gonda, and Sandila in Uttar Pradesh and Katihar in Bihar.
Following competitive bidding, the fully-owned subsidiary of Adani Logistics has been issued a letter of award (LoA) from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to construct the four silo complexes.
According to Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, construction of the new silo complexes aligns with the Indian government’s aim of modernizing the country’s storage infrastructure by developing a total silo storage capacity of 3.5 lakh MT. Adani Agri Logistics will increase its silo storage capacity in India to 15.25 lakh MT from a total of 24 grain silo complexes.
The Adani Group company said that silo complexes are mechanized and automated units that are integrated with temperature and humidity controls. Silo complexes are used for handling, storing, and preserving food grains.

The food grain handling process, starting from procurement to transportation, is in bulk form catered via containerized movement, said Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone stated: “AALL’s project will benefit farmers across the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar besides supporting general consumers and PDS (Public Distribution System) beneficiaries.
“Currently, farmers are forced to deal with a waiting period of two to three days while their agricultural produce makes its way through the traditional farm–to–mandi procurement chain.
“With the implementation of this project, the processing time will be cut down to merely one to two hours. This will significantly improve procurement efficiency.”
