Acupuncture for Fibromyalgia Treatment:
Acupuncture is known to relieve the symptoms of the pain caused due to fibromyalgia. It also reduces depression, and fatigue and improves the energy in patients suffering from fibromyalgia.
How does Acupuncture do for treating Fibromyalgia patients?
Acupuncture is done by stimulating certain areas of the body. The treatment is purely based on the activation of the pressure points. A needle is to be inserted into the trapezius muscle that is present near the back and the shoulders of the patient. These needles help in increasing the blood flow and reduce the number of tender points and thus increasing muscle health and relieving the pain in patients suffering from fibromyalgia. Acupuncture is to be given in six sessions for two to three weeks and after the treatment session; the patients reported decreased symptoms like pain, depression, and anxiety compared to drug therapy.
The treatment of acupuncture begins with the study of the medical history of the patient, his symptoms, and the treatment that was taken previously. Afterward, the pulse rate is noted, and assesses the texture and color of the tongue are. By examining the tongue acupoints will be noted and they will be targeted during the treatment. Pressure is applied on these acupoints by inserting needles. You will feel tingling and aching at the site of the piercing.
After the treatment, the patient experiences full of energy, intense relaxation, and heaviness of the limbs.
